High On Fire – “Frost Hammer” Video

Mar 10, 2010 Author: Admin | Filed under: 3

I gave an abridged history of High On Fire when posting “Frost Hammer,” the lead single from the Oakland trio’s fifth album Snakes For The Divine, because they’re a band who inspire detailed contextualization. Not just because main man Matt Pike was a member of Sleep or that HoF’s released some certified classics (Death is [...] (more…)

Band To Watch: Peepholes

Visually, though, they haven’t strayed too far from Cease To Begin’s nightscape. There’s less water and more mountainous swirls, but like the previous cover image, the sky was captured by photographer Christopher Wilson. [...] (more…)

First off, check out an abridged “Soft As Chalk” from the singer/songwriter’s ambitious new “triple” album Have One On Me. This aired on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night and I believe it Joanna’s US TV debut it marks her second American TV performance (see Kimmel ‘05). Rob Barber and Mary Pearson are releasing their excellently chilled-down, darker, and percussively denser second album High Places Vs. Mankind at the end of April. This new track “Can’t Feel Nothing (Remix)” doesn’t show up on it — instead it’s part of the “Can’t Feel Born” 12″ being released as a part of Thrill Jockey’s [...] (more…)
